Mariko is an award-winning freelance illustrator and printmaker. She has illustrated picture books, designed window displays, painted murals, launched her own range of ceramics and created the artwork for an entire subway station. Her work celebrates the patterns of different cultures, exploring sense of place, and her art can be found in private and public collections around the world. She is currently based in the Bay Area, and splits her time between California, Asia and London. Mariko loves travel, ceramics, and afternoon tea, and can always be found with a sketchbook and pen in her bag.
