A Verb for Keeping Warm Oakland, California
Kristine Vejar is the founder and owner of A Verb for Keeping Warm; a studio and shop dedicated to all things textile-related. She adores natural dyeing. She loves teaching others about it and helping others develop their natural dyeing practice. She is the author of The Modern Natural Dyer (ABRAMS / STC 2015).
Tasa Gleason was born in Oakland, California, and raised in a one-room cabin on 60 acres in Washington state. Tasa credits her parents and the community she was raised in with her love of making things and her appreciation for handcraft and textile arts. She has been working professionally in apparel and costume design and construction for over ten years. In 2014, Tasa was lucky enough to meet and start working with Kristine Vejar, owner of A Verb for Keeping Warm. Her work with Verb is deeply important to her and she is hugely grateful for the opportunity to support a mission statement she believes in so deeply and of the community she has met through Verb. Tasa holds a BFA in Dance Performance from Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle, WA and a Certificate in Apparel Design from College of Alameda, Alameda, CA.
