This lovely shrug is knit all in one piece so there is no seaming. The back is knit from side to side to take advantage of the distinctive color gradation of the yarn. This pattern is taught step-by-step as a class here.

Yarn: Red Heart Boutique Treasure Yarn in Spectrum, three balls; or 450 yards of
a worsted weight wool equivalent
 
Needles: Size 10, 16” circular knitting needles, size 10, 24” circular knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge
 
Gauge: In a K1, P1 rib (not stretched out) 18 sts x 20 rows = 4 inches
