I have been crocheting since I was 8 years old, making doll clothes and doilies with thread yarn on crochet hook sizes 00, 0, 1, and 2. I took up knitting when I was 19 and began making sweaters and vests for family members. Interspersed with those two needlecrafts, I’ve made small and large needlepoint pictures on 10-to-the-inch and 12-to-the-inch needlepoint canvas. Toss in embroidery, crewel, cross stitch, counted cross-stitch, bead work, and you get the idea I’ve dabbled in lots of creative endeavors. I sewed all my own clothes for ten-year period. Tried watercolor, oil painting, and other media; my favorite today is working with color pencils. Over the last 20 years, most of my hand work has involved knitting, and occasionally doing regular crochet (amigurumi) and Tunisian crochet (handbags).
