Bring fabric to the forefront with the crisp silhouette of Sonya Philip’s Pants No. 1 pattern. Known for her pattern line “100 Acts of Sewing,” Sonya shows how to make several variations of these simple and stylish pants with just two pattern pieces. You’ll learn how to add inches to the rise to add extra room, how to replace the elastic waistband with a drawstring, how to add in-seam pockets, and a ruffle cuff. Stitch them up in linen for an everyday pant or make them in flannel to wear as cozy pajamas. These pants are endlessly customizable and deliver 4-season 24/7 style. I learned sew much from this class! This is a great pattern. I did lengthen the pants and narrow the legs a bit. The loop sewn into the back of the waistband is great to be able to tell the front from the back. Reinforcing the back seam is brilliant and I will add that step to every pair of pants going forward. The first pair was made from an older cotton sheet and are going to be used as pajama bottoms. Today I will make another pair out of nicer fabric that I can wear out and about. I can see myself making several pairs of these pants. The instruction is excellent and thorough. Follow along and end up with a pair of pants. How cool is that?
