This handsome quilt is a fresh take the quintessential Australian quilt – which was a utilitarian quilt born on the outback from repurposed wool suiting. Kathy shows you her modern approach, using flying geese blocks with added applique. This quilt makes a bold, graphic statement but the project has a lot of flexibility so it can be reworked in many different arrangements.

- 1-2 yards dark fabric
- 1-2 yards of medium fabric
- 1-2 yards light fabric
- cutting mat
- rotary cutter
- quilting ruler
- quarter square triangle ruler (optional)
- sewing machine and thread
- seam ripper
- scissors
- straight pins
- variety of quilting threads
- 8 - 9- or 10 quilting needle
- chalk pencil
- thimble
- safety pins for quilt basting
- wool batting
- flannel for backing
