How was the neck band cut? Lengthwise so it’s less stretchy, or crosswise so it has more stretch?

I liked how every small detail to get the best sewing results were carefully explained, showed and said why those little tricks work best. Such as using lots of pins, starting the stich in discrete locations, being mindful of the grain line, trimming the raw edge on the hem for less bulk. Also I liked the assurances like trimming a bit of uneven seams is OK these small mistakes come out in the wash and other reminders like make sure the neckband is actually connecting to the t-shirt when sewing.
