In this class, Lisa will show you how to draft an eight-pointed star to use as your template, and then tape off sections and paint clean, crisp shapes. You will also learn how to mix acrylic colors to create different shades for a striking final piece.

Materials:
- 8” x 8” square clay board
- Straight edge metal ruler
- Sharp pencil and soft eraser
- Acrylic paint in a variety of colors
- White acrylic paint
- Artist tape
- 1 to 2 flat edge paintbrushes
- Rag or paper towels
- Palette and water container

This is a fun, approachable project. Lisa is patient as she explains each step, and the clear instructions build confidence to tackle this great work. I started out by doing this as a colored drawing which helped me practice the lines for the star, as well as mapping out my colors.
