Learn Fair Isle knitting - a traditional color work technique where two colors are knit in one row to create a geometric pattern - from expert knitter and knitwear designer Kristin Nicholas. Although it looks complicated, follow along with Kristin's step by step instruction and the included chart and you'll find this colorful hat fairly simple to make. Llearn how to make an elastic cast on, knit a garter stitch band in rows, and join the knitting to work the hat in rounds. A chart is used to build the colorwork pattern and duplicate stitches add a bit more color.
